The Ghent Neighborhood League announces a Candidates Forum at The Naro on Monday, April 26th at 6pm.  The Forum will feature the Candidates for Norfolk Mayor and Ward 2 City Council.  Just eight days before the election, this neighborhood forum will be one of the last opportunities for the candidates to square off before Norfolk’s Elections on May 4th.  The focus of the evening will be the questions and concerns of residents of Ghent, Downtown, Freemason and West Ghent neighborhoods.  This inaugural event is being co-sponsored by the Ghent, Downtown, Freemason and West Ghent Civic Leagues and the Ghent Business Association.

The City of Norfolk is asking for volunteers to assist in distributing information regarding the upcoming Census.

Volunteers Needed for Census Day

Census Day, Thursday, April 1, is almost here! In an effort to boost Census visibility all over the City, Norfolk and the U.S. Census Bureau have partnered with Farm Fresh. On April 1, at all area Farm Fresh locations, including The Market at Ghent, tables will be set-up in front of stores with Census information and giveaways to remind residents of the importance of filling out and mailing back their 2010 Census form. Volunteers are needed to help with the distribution of these items. If you are interested and available to volunteer, please contact Khalilah.legrand@norfolk.gov today.
