Please see the below information concerning commercial applications, which are slated for review by the Planning Commission at their January 28th meeting.
THE MUSE WRITERS CENTER, The Muse, for a special exception to operate an entertainment establishment without alcoholic beverages at 2200 Colonial Avenue, Suite 3.
Note: Michael from The Muse gave a brief overview of the application at the November 2015 GNL meeting as an item under “New Business”. The Muse is not asking for an ABC license but has noted in its application that it anticipates that it will continue to apply for ABC banquet licenses for special events such as its holiday open house.
PECK AND POUR WORLD CLASS WINGS AND BEER, Peck and Pour – Renewal, to renew a previously granted special exception for an entertainment establishment with alcoholic beverages at 1310 Colley Avenue. The purpose of this request is to renew the existing entertainment special exception following its 18-month expiration.
Note: The City Planning Staff has confirmed that this is renewal with no changes to the previously granted Special Exception that has a “sunset clause”. The new Special Exception would not have a sunset clause. Please note that the City will be sending notices to property owners within 300 feet. Additionally, per Planning Staff, the Norfolk Police has had only one call for service at that location since it opened, which was a report of vandalism. The original application for the Special Exception did have opponents from the community.
