City Council to Seek Public’s Input on Elected School Board
Based on the election results earlier this month, the Norfolk School Board will transition to an elected board. Norfolk City Council requests public input on how Norfolk citizens would like to elect their school board representatives. Currently, school board representatives can only be elected at-large or by the current ward system. Any other option requires state approval. In order for Council to present its recommendation to the state, the decision must be made by December 16th.
Norfolk City Council will host two public hearing collect citizen input on the method to elect school board members:
December 4 6:00 pm at Ruffner Academy, 610 May Avenue, and
December 11 6:00 pm at Granby High School, 7101 Granby Street.
