Hampton Blvd. Traffic Easing Measure for ODU Night Game 26 Sept.

September 18, 2014 by GNL webmeister

On Friday, September 26, 2014 Old Dominion University will host Middle Tennessee State for ODU’s first nationally televised night game on FOX Sports 1 at 8:00 p.m.

The City of Norfolk, Old Dominion University, Naval Station Norfolk, Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) and Elizabeth River Crossing (ERC) are coordinating efforts to ease traffic on Hampton Boulevard before and after the game.

Norfolk Police will direct drivers to the following alternate routes: Colley Avenue, Tidewater Drive and Granby Street. Norfolk Police in partnership with ODU Police will assist ticket holders with access to and from the game.

Naval Station Norfolk personnel should use I-64 and I-264 as alternate routes. All truck traffic from Naval Station and Norfolk International Terminal will be directed to Terminal Boulevard and I-564.

VDOT will assist with traffic messages on I-64 and I-264. ERC will ensure the Midtown and Downtown tunnels remain open and provide additional signage from Portsmouth to the Midtown Tunnel.
