February 11, 2013 by Irene
Please mark your calendars for our upcoming Feb. GNL meeting, to be held WED., Feb. 13th at 6:30 p.m. at The Williams School, located on Fairfax Avenue in the Hague Section of Ghent. (As you know, GNL meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month).
You are cordially invited to join us to hear the following new proposals and neighborhood developments:
Proposed City of Norfolk “Arts District” information and discussion session on proposed arts district vision, location, timelines, design and implementation. This proposed arts development area would serve as a link between Ghent and Downtown – Mr. Jesse Scaccia, spokesperson
Proposed City of Norfolk re-write of Historic Area guidelines, including: proposed new fees, review board, procedures and other details. Please ensure your voice is heard on this important matter and also join the GNL in attendance at the City’s upcoming Historic Architectural Presercation (HAPC) meeting on Feb. 20th, with more details to follow. Your feedback is appreciated as we draft a neighborhood response to these proposed changes, which as mentioned previously, were developed without GNL notification.
Update: Proposed Towne Bank project, former site of BP Gas Station (corner of Westover Ave. and Colley Ave).
Update: Stockley Gardens Improvement Project
Update: HRT’s revised bus route through Ghent
Update: Street sweeping and enforcement signage
…in addition to the monthly Norfolk Police Department security updates, GNL committee updates and upcoming Ghent events, including Ghent’s exciting Garden Week as well as more info on the proposed Sea Level Music Festival (proposed for April 4th).
Hope to see you this coming Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at The Williams School.
