The Ingleside Civic League forwarded the following:
Norfolk Citizens & Parents of Students of Norfolk Public Schools,
The search for a new superintendent is getting underway, with an online survey and you are invited to attend two public forums scheduled for Wednesday, April 14. Both forums will be at 7 p.m., one at Campostella Elementary (1106 Campostella Road) and the other at Northside Middle School (8720 Granby Street). The School Board is asking the public to complete an online survey. You can find the survey by going to http://www.npsk12.com and click the community link and find the headline for the superintendent search. Click the appropriate link with the magnifying glass.
The School Board hopes to hire a candidate by June 30, when Superintendent Stephen C. Jones will retire.
The Board has hired Ray and Associates, Inc., a firm that specializes in school executive searches. The firm is conducting the online survey and will host the April 14 public forums to gather the community’s ideas for what qualities are important in a superintendent. The survey will be available online until April 15.
Ray and Associates Inc. will use the public feedback in the creation of application materials and advertisements. The School Board is scheduled to interview candidates the first week of June.
